Academy Air is giving a new furnace to a St. Louis area household that needs one this winter.

We know what a failing furnace means in January. Warmth for Our Neighbors is our way of giving back: one deserving household will receive a new furnace, professionally installed by Academy Air, with no bill attached. The equipment is donated by our equipment partner. The recipient will never be asked to buy anything.

Who can be nominated

The nominee must:

Own and live in a home in Academy Air’s Missouri service area (the communities on our Service Area pages).
Be facing financial hardship, a failing or unsafe heating system, or other extraordinary circumstances.

You may nominate yourself, or a family or homeowner you know, with their permission.

Finalists will be asked to verify eligibility, including home ownership, and the home must pass a standard installation assessment. If a finalist’s home cannot accommodate the installation, an alternate recipient will be selected.

What the recipient receives

A new furnace, donated by our equipment partner
Standard professional installation by Academy Air’s licensed technicians
No cost to the recipient. Any additional work the home needs will be evaluated and discussed with the recipient first.

Recipients are never required to purchase services or take part in publicity.

Frequently asked questions

Can I nominate myself?

Yes. Choose “Myself” on the form.

Can I nominate more than one household?

Yes. Submit a separate form for each nominee.

Does the nominee need to know?

Please have their permission. We will need to contact them and visit the home if they are selected.

Do renters qualify?

Owner-occupied homes only, since the furnace becomes part of the home.

What if the home needs more than a furnace?

We assess the home before installation and discuss any additional work with the recipient first.

Will the recipient be featured publicly?

Only if they choose to be. Photos, video, and press are optional.

When is the recipient chosen?

Finalists are contacted in early December. Installation is complete by December 18.
