Academy Air has been the most pleasant part of our home maintenance: the professionalism and thoroughness isn’t just perfect, they very much go above and beyond. Mr. Ingrassia observed ...a flaw in our water heater — this observation wasn’t even on the menu of work we had wanted today — and effectively alerted us to a potential emergency. This wasn’t done as a sales pitch but as a courtesy, an observation I wouldn’t and couldn’t have made. That’s a level of courteousness beyond the call of duty. I have increased my ...‘star’ rating to reference this fact that they are trying to be a big company with a small company feel. Edited to add: we have used this company in the past for HVAC issues and have given them big jobs. It’s disheartening to know that loyalty means nothing to them. This isn’t the first over quote for a job but it will be the last. I was surprised that the technician was early. He was very friendly and wore his mask. He came out for an estimate to replace a water shut-off valve. It was double all other businesses ($465 vs. $200). Obviously did not use them for service but I’ve noticed this about the company in the past. I did ask about them matching the other quotes and they said they’d take $65 off.
