We believe that both temperature and temperament are important. Your Heating and Cooling system has to operate at peak efficiency, and the installation/service experience has to be as pleasant as possible.

Nobody likes a heating or cooling problem. We can't guarantee that you're going to enjoy your service call, but we are going to try.

Of course our technicians have the best training and certifications. You deserve that. We also insist that they are reliable, respectful, friendly, polite and neat. They are an important part of our family, and we want to be a small part of your family.

We are very particular about who we hire.

• Our technicians are hired only after passing a detailed technological exam and an important assessment of their abilities in the field.
• Their demeanor must be both courteous and possess the ability to truly listen to our customer concerns
• Our technicians are both NATE certified and are in continuing education both in-house and at factory sites to keep abreast of the latest technological advances in our industry

Mike Skikas — Technician

Mike has been with Academy Air for 11 years.  He is both a residential and commercial technician.  He is NATE certified.  He is an excellent diagnostician.  He is a good communicator, listens intently to customers' wants, needs, and is a very personable team player.   He is well liked by our many customers.  He has a wife and two very active daughters.

Bryan Crawford — Technician

Bryan has been with Academy Air for 4 years. He is a graduate of tech school in '06. He is an excellent maintenance and service technician. He is happily married and has an adorable baby boy that keeps him busy. He is a great listener, has fabulous communication skills and is a terrific team asset.

Steve Morff — Technician

Steve has been with Academy Air for10 years and has 20 years experience in the HVAC industry.  He is a lead installer, and holds his St. Louis County HVAC license.  He handles both residential and commercial installations and is highly complimented by our customers.  He has a wife and three active children.  They are avid campers and truly enjoy the outdoors.

Don Roloff — Technician

Don has been with Academy Air for 7 years.  He has 27 years experience in the HVAC industry.  He is a lead installer, is NATE certified, and holds a HVAC license in St. Louis County.  He adeptly performs both residential and commercial installations.  He is an excellent installer and has a quiet demeanor.  He has a wife and two children that keep their family life busy.

Joe Watson — Technician

Joe has been with Academy Air for 5 years. Joe is a graduate of tech school. He has proven to be an excellent installer and will have a bright future in our industry.  He is married and has five young children.

Ben Cook — Technician

Ben has been with Academy Air for 2 years. He is a graduate of Midwest Technical Institute Trade School. He is an excellent maintenance and service technician. He has an easy going personality , listens intently to customers needs and is a true asset to Academy Air. Ben is happily married and has an adorable baby boy that keeps his life busy!

Mike Flatley — Technician

Mike joined our team in 2009. He is a graduate of American Trade School and attained an Associates Degree in Business Administration. He is an excellent maintenance and service technician. He truly listens to our customers needs and concerns and has quickly become a valued team member! Mike is a bachelor and has a true variety of outside interests. He plays on two sand volleyball teams, loves to bowl, and is a big Cardinals fan. A few other of his many interests include camping, float trips, and shooting pool!

Mike Ludwig — Technician

Mike joined our team in 2010 and brings with him 4 years of superior knowledge and service experience in the HVAC industry. He is very outgoing with a good sense of humor. He listens intently to customer concerns and is extremely well liked by our customers. He is a true asset to our team. His two wonderful kids are the joy of his life. In his spare time he enjoys fishing and is an avid baseball player. He's a fan of NASCAR and the Cardinals.

Cory Graff — Purchasing/Warehouse

Cory joined our team in 2008. He has the ability to arrange and order parts quickly and accurately in order to respond to customers needs. He is a liaison between service technicians and in house dispatch to ensure excellent customer response time. We can count on Cory to be efficient, timely, and friendly and is an invaluable asset to our team. Cory has an adorable boxer named Marley. He is also an avid sportsmen in his spare time.

Ginnie Kozma — Office Manager / Customer Service

It is in her very nature to be an excellent listener and compassionate individual.  She has been with Academy Air for 12 years and has a true understanding of customer support.  She accurately and efficiently utilizes our vast computer system to quickly respond to customer needs.  She is happily married has five sons and seven grandchildren which fill her personal life! 

Jane Morris — Customer Service

She has been with Academy Air for 17 years and personally remembers hundreds of our customers!  She is always cheery, efficient and a lovely team member.  She has two daughters, one son, and three grandchildren.  She is an animal lover.  She has two cats and an adorable new puppy.  She also loves people and really enjoys the interaction with all our customers!

Carl Eckert — Operation Manager

Carl has been with Academy Air for 16 years.  His vast knowledge, acquired during his 27 years of industry experience, is a tremendous asset to our customers.  He has a journeyman pipe fitters license for St. Louis City and County, and a sheet metal journeyman license for St. Louis County. Carl provides excellent support and direction for all techs and has excellent customer service skills. 

Carl has an active large family consisting of his lovely wife, and four children. He is very active in boy scouts and many sports with his children!

Zach Silverstein — Vice President

Zach is highly involved in our industry. He is a graduate of asset training and is working full time while attending St. Louis University working towards he B.S.B.A.. Zach has worked for Academy Air for 7 years and has gained experience in all aspects of the company. He brings his energy, his experience, and vast knowledge in the computer arena to ensure our company is a leader in software application. Zach is multi talented and can create marketing material and amazing informational brochures for our client's benefit. He is well liked, respected, very personable and when tasked as a customer advisor always spends the time needed to customize a system to meet our clients individual needs. He is a true leader in the "green" movement and keeps Academy Air abreast of all the newest and latest "green" products for the benefit of our clients. He is a true asset to Academy Air, and with his multi talents will help guide the company in all endeavors. In his spare time he enjoys handball, working out, tennis, bike riding, and basically all sports!

Elise Silverstein — Co-owner / Marketing Manager / Accounting

Elise has been an advocate of Academy Air from its inception.  She graduated college with a BSBA magna cum laude with emphasis in marketing.  For 10 years she worked for McDonnell Douglas as a lead estimator / negotiator on the F-18 program.  She brings her energy, her business experience, and her personable nature to help promote a friendly and customer oriented company. She is also responsible for many of the accounting / payable functions for Academy Air. She is a great listener and uses her high energy to develop marketing plans and fun company functions.  She truly believes that a company should function as a cohesive unit and have a warm environment.  This attitude helps set the tone for Academy Air. 

Terry Silverstein — Owner / President

Terry has 36 years experience in the HVAC industry.  Terry is a true leader with a caring heart, a listening ear, and vast knowledge of the HVAC industry.  He is an active member of ACCA (Air Conditioning Contractors of America) St. Louis chapter.  In 2005 and 2006 he held the position of Vice President ACCA, St. Louis chapter.  In 2007 and 2008 he held the position of President. In 2009 he held the position of Treasurer.

He has a technical degree from Coyne Institute, is NATE certified, holds a sheet metal and HVAC license for St. Louis County, master water heater license, and a mechanical license for St. Charles County and St. Louis City.  He has spoken nationally on indoor air quality and participated in Washington D.C. to set standards for the National Air Duct Cleaner Association. 

Terry has an amazing ability to relate with customers.  He is a true listener and extremely personable.  He has been praised by thousands of customers and many contractors throughout the years.  He is an excellent leader and teacher for his technicians.  He holds weekly classes for all service techs to keep them abreast of the latest technological advances in our industry. His personal goal is to constantly exceed customers expectations in all aspects of business for Academy Air.  He is a man you can 100% trust and will stand behind all work performed to ensure 100% customer satisfaction 100% of the time. 

In his spare time Terry enjoys handball, working out, and water skiing.
